Hot towels first, to soften the beard and open everything up. Then lather, then the razor, worked with the grain and then against it where your skin will take it.
The whole thirty minutes goes on the shave itself. Because Henri runs one chair on a fixed schedule, none of that time gets eaten by someone else's appointment overrunning.
Head shaves are done the same way, with the same razor and the same towels.
